The overall aim of the TSG Treasurer is to make any payments as determined by the TSG Committee and to ensure that TSG’s end-of-year balance is not less than £3000. The Treasurer is also responsible for providing the Geological Society with a copy of the annual accounts.
All profits above this level are used to support postgraduate activities – such as small grants to support fieldwork or attendance at international conferences – and to provide floats for TSG-badged meetings and fieldtrips.
Anybody wishing to organise a TSG-badged meeting should contact a member of the Committee for advice on meeting floats and profit-sharing arrangements.
